These are the terms for using Patibles. Patibles is operated by Alex (the founder); when these terms say "we" they mean Alex.
By signing up, you agree
Creating an account means you've read and accepted these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with any part, please don't sign up.
What Patibles does
Patibles is a friendship matching service. You provide structured information about yourself and what you're looking for; an algorithm identifies potential matches; Alex reviews them and personally introduces people who look like a good fit. We do not surface matches to you directly — all introductions are made by Alex.
What we promise — and what we don't
We promise to:
- Treat the information you provide carefully, per the Privacy Policy
- Apply the same matching process to every user
- Only share your name and preferred contact method with other users when introducing you to a match
We do not promise that:
- You will receive any matches, or matches within any specific timeframe
- People we introduce you to will respond, be a good fit, or become friends
- The service will be available without interruption (we're a tiny operation; downtime happens)
Your responsibilities
- Be honest in your profile. The matching algorithm assumes the information you provide is accurate. Lying defeats the purpose and wastes everyone's time.
- Keep your password private and use a strong one. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- When introduced to a match, treat them with respect. Harassment, threats, or unwanted contact after they've declined is grounds for immediate account termination.
- One account per person.
- Don't scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access the admin interface or other users' data.
Age
You must be 13 or older to use Patibles.
Termination
You can delete your account anytime — email Alex at contact@patibles.com and your account and associated data will be removed.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially the conduct expectations above. We'll explain why if we do.
As-is service
Patibles is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee about the suitability, availability, or accuracy of the service. Use it at your own discretion.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Patibles, including but not limited to interactions with other users we introduce you to.
Changes
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the "last updated" date above and notify active users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
